CASA – IT’S ABOUT HELPING KIDS!

In September 2009, BAAR formed a community service partnership with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Queen Anne’s and Kent Counties, an organization that works with our most vulnerable children: those who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and are under the protection of the court.

CASA’s primary role is to advocate for the best interests of these children, all of whom are in foster care, helping to ensure that they are placed in safe, permanent homes.

This is what makes the BAAR / CASA connection so meaningful.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a great event we had on the evening of May 5, 2010 at Doc’s Riverside Grille in support of CASA! We want to especially thank all of our BAAR members who worked the event, showed up, donated items, sold 50/50 tickets, tended bar, bid on items and generally made it a hugely successful fundraiser for CASA. Our affiliate participation was outstanding! The communiy turnout was terrific!! We don’t have final numbers yet, but we know it was a huge success for CASA. Thank you again for this most worthwhile cause!
